Chamber Community Awards

Each year the Cowichan Lake District Chamber of Commerce is pleased to have the honour of recognizing individuals who have been a positive influence and have made great contributions of themselves toward the Cowichan Lake area. These recognitions are made through the Citizen of the Year Award , Nichole Stock Community Service Award , Business of the Year Award , and Customer Service Employee of the Year Award , . Winners of these awards are normally announced at the Cowichan Lake District Chamber of Commerce Annual General Meeting. The 2018 Chamber AGM is scheduled for Thursday March 1st. Nominations can be submitted to the Cowichan Lake District Chamber of Commerce Visitor / Business Centre 125C South Shore Road and the deadline date has been extended to Friday February 9th,2018.

Cowichan Lake District Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year Award

Citizen of the Year awardis awarded to an individual who has spearheaded, organized or carried through a project that has benefited the community as a whole during the year. All citizens residing in the Cowichan Lake Area are eligible for the “Citizen of the Year Award”

Nichole Stock Community Service Award

The Nichole Stock Community Service Award is awarded to an individual who has exemplified volunteerism, who has served the community unselfishly on an ongoing basis throughout the year, and who has not received any remuneration for the volunteer activity for which the award is being proposed. All citizens residing in the Cowichan Lake Area are eligible for the “Nichole Stock Community Service Award”

Island Savings Business of the Year Award

Business of the Year award recognizes a Chamber Member business that has made an outstanding contribution to the community.
Nomination requirements are as follows:
good corporate citizenship through active participation in community events is essential.
the business has the ability to create employment and generate income,
the business promotes economic welfare
this business will reward its employees and the community at large with a sound reputation of providing quality service.

Country Grocer Customer Service – Employee of the Year Award
Customer Service – Employee of the Year award will be given to an employee who consistently offers exceptional customer service.
Nomination requirements are as follows:
performance, attention to quality workmanship and service
is considered a role model within his or her respective industry
this person will have performed their job to such a level that their efforts have not only
assisted revenues but also have enriched the lives of their customers and co workers
this person always goes the extra mile to serve the customer and is a strong team player.
