Lake Cowichan First Nation (Ts’uubaa-asatx) men and women are skilled canoeists who are excited to share their traditional knowledge and history with visitors. After a millennia of living on the shores of Cowichan Lake (Kaatza), there are plentiful stories on the experiences and resources from their traditional territory.
Our waterfront location allows paddlers instant access to the waters of Cowichan Lake. A short paddle along the shore of the lake exposes you to the natural, rich marine life. When arriving back from one of our tours, relax and enjoy the view of the beautiful lake and mountain views while at the Ts’uubaa-asatx Cafe next door.

Our history is yours since 1983. We collect, conserve, catalogue, research, display and interpret the history of the Cowichan Lake area. Our gift shop sells local history books and Canadian books, historical maps, pins, postcards, magnets, toys and much more.

The space
Your ground floor suite is completely private with a separate entrance with laundry facilities in the suite. No stairs to negotiate and no steep driveway. Parking is right beside the entrance.
One bedroom contains a double bed while the other provides a bunk bed with a double mattress on the bottom and a single on top. There is also a single bed in the same room. This would provide accommodation for 2 adults plus up to 4 children. The space would also be suitable for 4 adults plus 2 children.
We prefer to limit the number of people to suggestions shown above. We reserve the right to decline or cancel any reservation that does not meet this criteria unless we have given prior consent. We want all our guests to be comfortable and do not wish to overcrowd the space.
There is a fully appointed kitchen with full size fridge/freezer, dishwasher and full size microwave. Everything is provided to enable you to self cater your meals.
Complimentary Keurig coffee maker is provided. Some complimentary pods are provided to get you started.
We welcome pets and ask that owners please pick up after them during their stay.
