We are a non-profit society; providing programs and facilities to the people of the Cowichan Lake area. Our mission is to enhance and support the quality of life for Cowichan Lake are residents. We will strive to do this through education, prevention, recreation, counselling and support groups. It is also our aim to work together with other service agencies in an integrated approach.
The Save Our Holmes Society stands firm in opposition to the logging of Mount Holmes and Mount Good above the community of Youbou and Meade Creek.
We are dedicated to the preservation of an undisturbed watershed, slope stability, a robust forest and a healthy ecosystem.
We will foster partnerships with those who will work with us to ensure that we have a safe, healthy and beautiful environment in which to live and visit.
Schools in the Cowichan Valley provide quality education to about 7,800 students in a predominately rural area. SD 79 respectfully acknowledges that we are learning on the traditional and ancestral lands of the Malahat, Lake Cowichan, Quw’utsun, Halalt, Penelakut, Stz’uminus, and Lyackson people.
