To our local business community, we stand with you during these hard times. We know this is a very unsettling time for everyone, not just here in the Cowichan Lake Area, but around the globe. Our local (Town of Lake Cowichan, Municipality of North Cowichan, Town of Ladysmith, City of Duncan, CVRD ), Provincial (Legislative Assembly)and Federal leaders (Members of Parliament) First Nations Health Authority are working around the clock to first of all – “flatten” the COVID-19 curve and second of all – to ensure our economy can weather this unprecedented event.
The same as our fellow Cowichan Valley Chambers we have placed this COVID-19 Resource Directory for your convenience.
As events related to the COVID-19 pandemic unfold daily and even hourly, our small but dedicated team is working hard to support and advocate for the Cowichan Valley Businesses and Community.
This page will primarily act as a business resource directory of partner organizations that, like the Cowichan Valley Chambers which consist of ( Duncan Chamber, Ladysmith Chamber, Chemainus Chamber and Cowichan Lake Chamber) are working diligently on behalf BC businesses to not only provide resources and support during the pandemic, but to ensure that post-pandemic economic stimulus strategies, at both a Provincial and Federal level, reflect the realistic needs of all BC businesses, in particular, small businesses.

BC Chamber of Commerce
The BC Chamber of Commerce has developed a landing page that features the latest updates and links to provincial and federal relief initiatives for both businesses and workers. This includes, but is not limited to, information on Access to Capital, Taxation Relief for Businesses, Wage Subsidy Programs, Employment Insurance & Emergency Benefits for Workers and B2B Support from Private and Crown Corporations (BC Hydro, Fortis BC, etc.).

BCEDA has developed a #COVID19 Resources for BC Businesses Guide. This is a live, shareable guide that is being continually updated with the most relevant information, tools and resources for the BC business community. Especially helpful, these tools and resources are broken down by industries or sectors, and the document also contains other key information and updates.

Small Business BC
SBBC has also developed a COVID19 Resource page, which includes a range of support tools including. We recommend joining their Digital Meet-Up, a video call group for the small business community during COVID-19 to help share challenges and solutions. They also have resources for Creating a Crisis Plan, which includes a downloadable Business Continuity & COVID19 Small Business Checklist that small businesses can use to help minimize the impacts of COVID19 on their employees and operations.
